ARLINGTON, Va. -- NASCUS welcomed two new state regulators into its fold at its Washington, D.C.-area headquarters June 20-21.

Connecticut Department of Banking Commissioner Howard Pitkin and Ohio Department of Commerce Superintendent of Financial Institutions John Reardon attended the NASCUS New Commissioner's Orientation. The two learned about the NASCUS organization, its initiatives and its mission and met with NASCUS management to gain familiarity with association departments and their functions.

"The New Commissioner's Orientation is an important opportunity for new credit union supervisors to meet with Washington, D.C. policymakers and learn about the NASCUS resources available to them and their agency staff," NASCUS President/CEO Mary Martha Fortney said. "We look forward to welcoming new commissioners and continuing to serve as a resource to state regulators."

During the orientation, the new state regulators also met with the three NCUA Board members. Board Member Gigi Hyland serves as the agency liaison to NASCUS.
