HIGHTSTOWN, N.J. — The New Jersey Credit Union League confirmed last week it has hired HRValue Group, a Plymouth, Mich., search and recruiting firm, to help find a new president/CEO.
"Ultimately, we are looking for a CEO who will give our league the solid direction and stable leadership that New Jersey credit unions deserve and expect," said Rina Pantano, league chairman and president/CEO of NJ Gateway Federal Credit Union, Monmouth Junction.
Pantano said the search would consider candidates from within New Jersey, Middle Atlantic states and across the nation. The new CEO would succeed Robert S. Walls, who was dismissed last April after serving in the top managerial post since 2005.

Separately, the lead spokeswoman for the trade group, Sharon Dilling, said last week she is leaving to take a job at a Hackensack medical school effective July 2.
"This is a time to move on to take advantage of a once in a life opportunity," said Dilling, who has been the league's director of marketing and communications the last three years. She will become director of marketing and community affairs at Touro University College of Medicine.
Regarding HRValue, Pantano cited the firm's "successful track record in working with other leagues to locate and recruit executive management." A league statement on the hiring gave no timetable when a new CEO might be on board though Tom Griffiths, retired president/CEO of the Iowa Credit Union League, was recruited early last month to oversee operations through at least September.
A consortium of 20 state leagues and CUNA Mutual Group of Madison, Wis. own HRValue Group.
