WASHINGTON — Freshman Congressman Gus Bilirakis (R-Fla.) has joined the ever-growing list of lawmakers backing the Credit Union Regulatory Improvements Act (H.R. 1537).

With the addition of Bilirakis, 104 lawmakers are officially supporting the bill. CURIA would create a risk-based capital framework, expand credit union business lending opportunities, and provide other regulatory relief items while tightening consumer protections in mutual savings bank conversions.
