FORT SMITH, Ark. — Helping members keep on trucking has been made easier at Arkansas Best Federal Credit Union with the deployment of a loans-by-phone service from Digital Dialogue, the company and credit union say.
The $87 million CU counts a number of long-haul truckers among its membership and has seen increased activity each month since it initiated the telephone lending service in March, says Barbara Kennedy, the Fort Smith credit union's lending manager.
She says the over-the-phone service helps serve members "who regularly criss-cross time zones and whose schedules don't always match the credit union's regular business hours."
Digital Dialogue is based in Auburn Hills, Mich., and is a PSCU Financial Services-owned provider of call center operation and software solutions.

"Because the loan application is customized for each of the credit union's loan products, a member is able to quickly complete the application on the phone," says Howard Hoemann, vice president sales and marketing for Digital Dialogue. "There are no unnecessary questions or additional disclosures delaying the loan application."
