ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Summit Federal Credit Union Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer Laurie Baker has recently been elected to the New York State Credit Union League board.
"I am honored to have been chosen by my credit union peers across the state to represent New York credit unions of various sizes at the statewide level. We will be strong advocates for credit unions in general and look forward to taking on many important issues with legislators in Albany and nationally", said Baker.
Baker won one of 11 seats in the first-ever statewide election of board members, and was the only non-CEO to win a seat on that board. She was elected to represent credit unions with assets between $100 million and $500 million.

"We are pleased that two of the eleven directors are from Rochester including Laurie from The Summit and Ann Hynes from St. Pius X Federal Credit Union. In addition, we are fortunate to have one board seat filled from Buffalo and one from Niagara Falls. This means that we will have a strong and unified voice for Upstate credit unions and will be very well represented in our Western NY operating area," said Michael Vadala, president/CEO of The Summit.
