ARLINGTON, Va. — NASCUS announced that it has added one new speaker and a panel of credit union experts to address a number of hot button issues during its State System Summit in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Aug. 9-11.
Capital expert University of Alabama Finance and Management Professor Dr. William Jackson will discuss the pros and cons of capital reform. Before joining the University of Alabama, Jackson was a financial economist and associate policy advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
Credit union organization leaders were also added to the agenda to analyze how credit unions can continue to play an important role in Americans' finances. The panel will include NASCUS Chairman-elect George Reynolds, senior deputy commissioner of the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance; NASCUS Credit Union Advisory Council Chairman Mendell Thompson, president/CEO of America's Christian Credit Union, Glendora, Calif.; CUNA Chairman Allan Kemp McMorris, president/CEO of Oakland County Credit Union, Waterford, Mich.; NAFCU Chairman John Milazzo, president/CEO of Campus FCU, Baton Rouge, La.; and American Association of Credit Union Leagues Chairman Rick Pillow, president of the Virginia Credit Union League.
