BROOKFIELD, Wis. -- There's been more changes at two of Fiserv's seven credit union core processing subsidiaries today.
Tim Milz, who once served as president of GalaxyPlus, Troy, Mich., is returning to that role after spending nine months as president of USERS, Valley Forge, Pa. In a unique move, Fiserv swapped core processing presidents last year, sending Milz to USERS and USERS President Larry Tankeloff to GalaxyPlus. Tankeloff eventually resigned for family reasons associated with the move. Tankeloff has returned to Pennsylvania and now works with CorePROFIT Solutions as chief operating officer.
All these moves mean Fiserv had a vacancy at USERS. No more. Joe Barry, who has a long history with USERS, will return as president. Barry served as president for over three years before being named president of the Fiserv Credit Union Division in January of 2004. Barry will keep that role and now wear two hats for Fiserv.
Barry said he will be a different president this time around, focusing more on client relations and strategy than the day-to-day operations. Barry said because of Fiserv's new strategy, this move won't be a disruption. "We're moving from a holding company to an operating company," he said, noting that Fiserv now shares more services and functions across company lines than in the past. He also cited his strong relations in the industry for helping ease the transition.
It won't be a change in geography for Barry; he already lives just a few miles from USERS headquarters.
He noted that USERS COO Eric Panepinto will take a greater role in day-to-day operations.
Barry will continue to oversee Summit, GalaxyPlus, Aftech and USERS in his division president role. IntegraSys President Scott Butler is also a credit union division president. Butler oversees XP Systems, CUSA Technologies and IntegraSys.
