FAIRHAVEN, Mass. — Cape Cod Gas Employee's Federal Credit Union and First Citizens' Federal Credit Union have announced merger plans.
Effective July 1, the 354 members of the $1.6 million Cape Cod Gas Employee's FCU will have access to such First Citizens FCU services as online banking, insurance offerings, business accounts, and additional branch locations.
Faced with growing regulatory and technology expenses, Cape Cod Gas Employees FCU President Steven Jacobson says the merger makes "perfect sense" for its members.

First Citizens FCU has over $375 million in assets and serves some 50,000 members.
