WASHINGTON — Democrat Christopher Carney (Pa.) has signed on to the ever-lengthening list of co-sponsors to the Credit Union Regulatory Improvements Act (H.R. 1537).

The list of co-sponsors in the first session of the 110th Congress is already up to 93, including primary sponsor Paul Kanjorski (D-Pa.). Last Congress, the bill attracted 125 co-sponsors.

With the addition of this freshman congressman, credit unions have been able to rally 10 new co-sponsors around the bill that had lost 11 from the previous Congress because they either retired, lost re-election, ran for higher office or died.
