SAVANNAH, Ga. — With the theme "Members Win," the Georgia Credit Union Affiliates kicked off its annual convention today at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center and The Westin Savannah Harbor.
This year's theme reflects the credit union belief that all members are winners and credit unions that treat their members like winners are winners too, GCUA said. To illustrate the winning concept, Walter Bond, former NBA player, will share his journey to success and how he decided he would be a winner no matter what challenges he experienced. Diana Dykstra, CEO of San Francisco Fire Credit Union, will share the impetus behind the concept that "when members win, we all win."
Many of the convention's sessions will focus on strategies for growing membership, including serving the growing Hispanic market and creating leaders to help tie it all together.

While registration, some receptions and a small credit union summit will take place today, the convention's sessions and keynote addresses will start tomorrow. Credit Union Times will be on site tomorrow and Friday providing full coverage.
