SCRANTON, Pa. — Tobyhanna Federal Credit Union has recently partnered with BALANCE Financial Fitness Program.

According to credit union execs rising consumer debt, ever-increasing numbers of bankruptcy filings, and growing numbers of predatory financial services have resulted in a greater need for comprehensive education and counseling from a trusted resource.

"As a financial institution in the community we feel it is our job to help with such needs," said Nina Waskevich, Tobyhanna FCU marketing manager.

In addition to helping members improve their financial situation, Waskevich says the BALANCE partnership will result in reduced losses and an increase in member loyalty. She adds that proactive money management and debt related services have the power to offset bankruptcies and prepare members for financial goals that involve mortgage and investment products available through the credit union.
