PARKLAND, Fla. — Eastern Financial Florida Credit Union's third Annual “Swing for the Kids” Golf Tournament has once again helped make a difference in kids' lives.

In three years the tournament has raised over $163,000 for South Florida children's charities. This year's recipient agency, Hollywood, Florida-based The Starting Place, will receive at least $65,000 plus available matching funds through the United Way of Broward County.

On hand for the fundraising event were local NBC6 meteorologist Paul Deanno with the NBC Weather Hummer, Stanley C. Panther, mascot of the Florida Panthers and emcee Kenny Walker of WQAM's morning show, Kenny and Bo, along with nearly 120 golfers.

Title sponsors Allied Solutions & Capital Lending Strategies were on board for the third year in a row, with help from platinum sponsor Fidelity Information Services, and some 30 other main and contributing sponsors.

The Starting Place is a comprehensive behavioral health facility that provides counseling, academics, preventions treatment, after-care, diversion and referral services for children and adolescents.
