ONTARIO, Calif. — The $1.6 billion State Employees Credit Union of Maryland has become the latest CU to join the CO-OP ATM and EFT Network, according to CO-OP Financial Services, the CUSO that owns the network.

SECU has 248,000 members, CO-OP said, and the Network has 490 surcharge free machines in Maryland.

SECU said they joined because of CO-OP's recent deal with 7-Eleven which provides fee-free ATM access at 5,500 retail locations across the country.

"CO-OP's partnership with 7-Eleven is what ultimately sold us on the deal," said Hank Madera, SECU vice president of operations. "We provide our members access to more machines (91 ATMs) than any other credit union or ATM network in the local area. Now, 7-Eleven will supply 304 more locations in Maryland, where our members can withdraw their money."
