DOVER, Del. — Expressing "shock and surprise," the leadership of the Delaware Credit Union League Tuesday was coming to the defense of one of its former managers, Robert S. Walls, fired last month as president/CEO of the New Jersey Credit Union League.
"Bob was a big part of our growth during his tenure here and his work on Credit Union House and other areas gave the Delaware League a real national presence," said the chairman of the Delaware League, Joel Romaine, who also is vice president/operations officer of DPL CU of Newark.
Walls, dismissed by the New Jersey League Board April 23 for reasons not fully explained, paid a visit to the Delaware League offices on Monday meeting with staffers.
