CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Consumers use the Web for information about checking accounts and other product information, but still tend to rely on the brick-and-mortar branch. Forrester Research says its findings for a recent report show the need to use the Web as an educator, making sure the online site provides rate and fee information while highlighting branch and ATM locations. But don't forge to show how easy it is to apply online for checking accounts, the think firm says, and to target demographics likely to take that channel.
