ATLANTA — An imaging solution from VSoft Corp. that allows merchants to electronically capture and send checks for deposit has been added to Synergent's item processing services. The iMerchant Capture system allows businesses to use a low-speed scanner to capture images and securely transmit them over the Web to financial institutions regardless of location. Courier costs are eliminated and funds become available more quickly, according to Atlanta-based VSoft.

Synergent is based in Portland, Maine, and provides item processing, card, print and technology services to credit unions around the Northeast.

"Synergent has realized much success from VSoft's solutions in the past, which is why we decided to enhance our capabilities with the iMerchant Capture solution," said Hunter King, senior vice president of Synergent.
