MADISON, Wis. — CUNA Mutual Group today announced it is donating $10,000 to the Freedom First Federal Credit Union/Virginia Tech Memorial Fund.
The fund was established by FFFCU to support the recovery and renewal process following last week's tragic shooting at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. FFFCU has two branches on the campus.
"Our thoughts are with the students, faculty and families of those affected by this senseless tragedy," said Jeff Post, president/CEO of CUNA Mutual. "We hope this contribution will help facilitate the healing process."
The memorial fund will be directed toward the college's Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund and used to cover expenses, including grief counseling, memorials, communication and comfort expenses and incidental needs.
