BURNSVILLE, Minn. — Burnsville Chamber of Commerce's BITE of Burnsville attendees were all hitting the "jackpot" thanks to US Federal Credit Union.
As title sponsor of the event, the credit union opted to play up this year's theme of "Viva Las Burnsville by providing an original, oversized USFCU slot machine. The striking eight-foot structure, with USFCU branded adornment and overflowing with chocolate coins took center stage at the event.
"The slot machine was amidst all of the evening's activity and many guests' heads turned as they passed by," said Marty Kelly, senior vice president of marketing and business development at USFCU. Many of the chamber event's near 450 attendees were drawn to pose next to the gigantic machine for a momentous photo. They were given moneybags to hold while capturing their evening's "winning" experience with USFCU. "As soon as the slot machine was in view, many guests reached for their own cameras, without knowing complementary pictures were being taken for them," said Rachel Gronewald, community development specialist. The giant slot machine structure composed of a wooden framing covered by vinyl pre-designed banners. Local and independent designer, Mark Heinz of Heinz Designz, constructed the machine for USFCU's unique use in its sponsorship of this fundraising event. The BITE of Burnsville is an annual fundraising event, offering a variety of food from local vendors, along with added entertainment such as music, comedy, and silent and live auction.
