WASHINGTON — Two of NAFCU's top lobbyists spent Easter Monday training the next generation on the wiles of Washington on the South lawn of the White House.

NAFCU Senior Vice President of Governmental Affairs Dan Berger attended the annual White House Easter Egg Roll with his three-year-old daughter, Shelby. NAFCU Director of Legislative Affairs Brad Thaler also brought his daughter, Annalise, 20 months.

Some of the celebrities attending included Elmo and other Sesame Street characters, Bugs Bunny, First Lady Laura Bush, and Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom Host Peter Gros. The tradition of the White House Easter Egg Roll began in 1878, according to the White House Web site (www.whitehouse.gov), with President Rutherford B. Hayes. Just under 18,000 tickets were distributed for this year's event, hosted by Laura Bush. The American Egg Board provided 7,200 real eggs.
