LATHAM, N.Y. — Congressmen John Hall (D-N.Y.) and Maurice Hinchey (D-N.Y.) met with New York State Credit Union League staff and representatives from Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union during an Orange County Chamber of Commerce event recently.
League President/CEO William J. Mellin and Vice President of Governmental Affairs Amy Kramer discussed the league's legislative agenda with the congressmen. Hudson Valley CEO Mary Madden; Chief Financial Officer Derrik Wynkoop; Sandy Ludlum, vice president/Branches and Operations; Steve Mikits, vice president/Marketing; Kathy Ferrusi, senior community relations coordinator, and Michael Valentino, community relations coordinator were also in on the talks.
"It was great having the opportunity to speak to Representative Hall," Mellin said, applauding the credit union for sponsoring the event. "As a freshmen representative he brings an open mind and optimistic outlook to Congress and to credit union issues. He indicated his support of credit unions and his interest for learning more about CURIA and all of our initiatives."

The credit union representatives requested Hall's co-sponsorship of the Credit Union Regulatory Improvements Act (H.R. 1537). Hinchey was previously a co-sponsor.
Other area credit unions were also in attendance.
