WASHINGTON — Washington's Micas–CUNA President/CEO and former Congressman Dan Mica (D-Fla.) and Congressman John Mica (R-Fla.)–swapped stories with the Washington Post recently for a feature article.

The article, which appeared earlier this month, quipped that the brothers "talked for two minutes without a partisan jab." They also talked about how they look so much alike that they are sometimes confused on the Hill. The article recounted that at a White House reception one time, George H.W. Bush asked Dan Mica, "Are you you, or are you the other one?"

Dan Mica explained that even though he and John have different congressional interests he has told CUNA's board he will not lobby his brother. One time, just by coincidence, Dan Mica made his regular contribution to the Credit Union Legislative Action Council, CUNA's PAC, the same day CULAC made a contribution to John Mica's re-election campaign, the article explained.

In fact, Dan Mica told the Washington Post, "maybe we could be a catalyst" for bipartisan warmth, to which his brother replied, "I wouldn't go that far."
