KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Mazuma Credit Union has recently sponsored the seventh annual Mix for Kids Radiothon and helped raise much-needed funds to benefit the Children's Miracle Network.

Hosted by local radio station Mix 93.3, the three-day event raised over $555,000 for the Children's Miracle Network. Funds collected will stay in the Greater Kansas City area, benefiting children treated at Kansas University Medical Center and Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics. Mazuma President Rob Givens made a $15,000 on-air check presentation on behalf of the credit union. "The things they do at these hospitals are miraculous," Givens said. "At Mazuma we feel we have a special obligation to understand our members' aspirations and help their dreams come true. By participating in the Radiothon, we found a special joy in hearing these kids talk about their dreams and making an effort to help their dreams come true. We feel that we have made a difference." Some 16 Mazuma staffers also donated their time to work the phones during the Radiothon. Mazuma also helped raise funds for CMN by participating in the Change Bandit fundraiser where members were asked to donate change to the Change Bandit, rounding their transactions up to the next dollar-amount. Mazuma members raised $739.50, and a total $41,517.06 was raised to benefit the Children's Miracle Network.
