NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Langley Federal Credit Union has helped area military families send messages of support and encouragement to deployed loved ones via Webcasts.
The over $1 billion credit union hosted Operation Best Wishes, a national program that sets up mobile Webcast studios at selected credit unions and gives families up to 10 minutes each to record and send special greetings. The deployed loved one can either watch the Webcast message live or access the archived recording for up to six months.
Operation Best Wishes is offered free to families by America's Credit Unions, through WesCorp Federal Credit Union and the Defense Credit Union Council. The program, currently in its 2007 national tour, is visiting credit unions and military families in Alaska, California, Hawaii, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Utah, and Virginia.
Plans are already underway to make a stop March 16-17 at Wrightstown, N.J.-based Andrews Federal Credit Union. Military families have been eagerly reserving Webcast sessions for the upcoming visit.
