SODUS, N.Y. — Joining the growing ranks of credit unions changing their names to better reflect their membership, WCTA Federal Credit Union will become Reliant Community Federal Credit Union in mid-March.

According to WCTA President/CEO Pamela P. Heald, the word "Reliant" has several meanings that include confident and trustful and the word community speaks to and reinforces the fact as a community credit union membership is available to many. "We are proud of our heritage," said Heald. "WCTA was founded in 1970 on the principles of consistently providing outstanding member service and offering quality products and services to meet the needs of its members. Thirty-six years later, that statement is still true. The WCTA name has served us well during this time, but our new name will clearly communicate that we are focused on serving individuals and families in our three-county field of membership."

To reflect its ongoing commitment to help identify solutions for members' financial needs the CU's new tagline is "Real Solutions. Real Value."
