HILLSBOROUGH, N.J. — Affinity Federal Credit Union will kick off a series of free business-to-business professional networking events called "Networking After Hours" starting Feb. 20.
The networking events will take place from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. According to Jason Vitug, branch manager of the CU's Hillsborough branch, the series is in response to numerous meetings he has had with local business people since the branch opened this past July.
"In essence, many of the local business people in the area told us that they wanted more business networking opportunities," Vitug said.

Small business plays a key role in the economic well being of the surrounding communities including Belle Mead, Manville, Somerville, Bridgewater, and Branchburg, but there are few opportunities to support their professional interactions with one another, according to Vitug.
The Hillsborough branch is Affinity's largest with more than 5,000 square feet. The branch is also unique in that it has a small amphitheatre for hosting on-site seminars in conjunction with future networking events, Vitug said.
The $1.4 billion Affinity FCU serves more than 119,000 members.
