SALT LAKE CITY — Mountain America Credit Union, a partner of the Salt Lake Neighborhood Housing Services, recently sponsored the YouthWorks graduation.
YouthWorks is a youth employment program that employs neighborhood "at-risk" youth. The young people, ages 14-18, help in the community building efforts of Salt Lake.
The teens are required to attend school during the morning and work in the afternoon to help build affordable housing, clean vacant lots, provide yard clean up services for senior citizens and other activities that promote neighborhood revitalization. The program aims to develop two prominent skills: life skills and employment skills.
