MADISON, Wis. — Marc A. Krasnick, senior vice president, Credit Union Protection Products for CUNA Mutual Group, has announced he will retire Jan. 31 after 34 years of service.

Krasnick led the Credit Union Protection Products team most recently in addressing the challenges associated with plastic card fraud and identity theft issues. During Krasnick's tenure, CUNA Mutual said it continued to be the dominant fidelity bond provider to credit unions, securing 94% of the market.

Joe Dillon will serve as the interim Credit Union Protection Products leader, having recently joined CUNA Mutual's underwriting division.

Krasnick served under five CEOs during his tenure. He also headed the company's corporate planning, insurance brokerage, collateral protection, direct response, individual life, PLAN AMERICA [now MEMBERS Financial Services] and marketing support areas. He also commuted to Canada for a few years in the early 1990s while serving on the senior management team of The CUMIS Group.

"In the face of this new breed of risk, Marc successfully demonstrated CUNA Mutual's unwavering commitment to helping our credit union customers understand and implement the difficult changes necessary to respond to the changing marketplace," said David Lundgren, executive vice president and chief products officer.

Krasnick said he and his wife, Diane, will move to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands this spring where she will be a cantorial soloist and assist the rabbi of the synagogue there.

"I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to work for a great company that provided me with an incredible career and the ability to provide for my family who supported me through all of these years and extensive travels," Krasnick said. "These opportunities have enabled me to get to work with, and become friends with, so many wonderful credit union professionals, regulators and fellow employees." –[email protected]
