RIDGECREST, Calif. — Effective Jan. 29, $16 million Searles Lake Community Federal Credit Union will change its name to Desert Valleys Federal Credit Union. According to President/CEO Eric A. Bruen, the name change is necessary to communicate the credit union's community charter boundaries to potential members.
“This new name and new image is a way of embracing the fact that change is inevitable. We know that we are delivering the type of products and services that can help our community members improve financially, but if they do not realize you are available to them, you are fighting an uphill battle,” Bruen said.
The new Desert Valleys FCU will conduct two member appreciation events to introduce the new name to the public, one at each of its two branches.
