WASHINGTON — Former Treasury Secretary John Snow was as strong a supporter of the credit union tax-exemption as the community has ever seen in that post, but Henry Paulson has shown willingness to dialogue with credit unions. Though no big public announcements have been made by Paulson in support of the tax-exemption to date, such as Snow's at CUNA's Governmental Affairs Conference and subsequently other places, he has already met with top officials at NCUA and CUNA. Paulson was serving as chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs when he agreed to enter public service.
