DEARBORN, Mich. — With its legal fight with the $1.7 billion DFCU Financial currently still bogged down, DFCU Owners United has fielded a slate of candidates for the credit union's next board elections.

According to the organization, petitions supporting the five men and one woman were submitted to the CU by the Nov. 30 deadline. If the slate is accepted for the balloting, a total of nine candidates (three incumbents and six challengers) will compete for three seats.

The three incumbent members who are running to hold onto their seats have all been on the board and/or supervisory committee for some time. The seven challengers include Linda Malec, a former 20-year member of the board, along with a design engineer, mid-level company executive, and three mid-level financial executives and/or analysts.
