WASHINGTON — CUNA and NAFCU joined forces to run an advertising campaign in the major Capitol Hill newspapers in the wake of the release of the Government Accountability Office reports on credit union taxation and executive compensation and the independence of NCUA. Publications where it appeared last week included Roll Call, The Hill, and CQ Daily Monitor.
CUNA Senior Vice President of Political Affairs Richard Gose described the advertisement as "stressing a lot of the verbiage from the study released by NCUA about how credit unions are serving their mission." The ad was put together before the GAO report, he said.
