BANGOR, Maine — This Thanksgiving, needy families in Maine had something for which to be thankful.

The Maine Credit Union League presented a $1,000 check to the Good Shepherd Food Bank to buy more than 100 turkeys. Both groups have worked together in the past. Monday marked the one-year anniversary of the rollout of their food truck, which delivers food to soup kitchens and pantries around the state.

Since 1990, the Maine Credit Union League has raised more than $2 million to help to end hunger in Maine.
