HARRISBURG, Pa. — Two Republican House members from Pennsylvania were seated on the House Financial Services Committee in the 109th Congress, but only one will be returning.
Two House races remaining after Nov. 7 were determined late election week. Jim Gerlach just barely defeated his Democratic challenger Lois Murphy with 50.6% of the vote, according to the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association.
However, Michael Fitzpatrick did not achieve such a positive outcome. He lost re-election by just 1,500 votes to Democratic Iraq War Veteran Patrick Murphy, according to the league.
