WASHINGTON — Elections were held Nov. 7 and winners still have not been declared in eight races.
In Washington State's eighth district, Congressman Dave Reichert (R) won re-election in an announcement early last week. A run-off between incumbent Henry Bonilla (R) and former Congressman Ciro Rodriguez (D) will be held sometime after Dec. 12; this is not typical for Texas, but a court-ordered open election after redistricting was overturned led to the run-off, a CUNA spokesperson explained. However, Louisiana has open primaries in its state and when a candidate does not win at least 50% of the vote, a run-off occurs, as did this year with embattled incumbent William Jefferson (D) and Karen Carter (D). The run-off is scheduled for Dec. 9.

o Ohio 15–Incumbent Republican Deborah Pryce, and Financial Services Committee member, led Mary Jo Kilroy (D) by 3,536 votes as of deadline.
oOhio 2–Incumbent Jean Schmidt (R) led Victoria Wulsin (D) by approximately 2,800 votes at deadline.
oNew Mexico 1–Incumbent Heather Wilson (R) led Patricia Madrid (D) by less than 1,500 votes of over 200,000 cast.
oNorth Carolina 8–Incumbent Robin Hayes (R) was leading Larry Kissell (D) with about 1,500 provisional ballots left to count.
oGeorgia 12–Incumbent John Barrow (D) led former Congressman Max Burns (R) by just hundreds of votes with an automatic recount expected after the initial count was certified last week.
oConnecticut 2–Courtney (D) led incumbent Robert Simmons (R) by about 100 votes with a recount expected to be complete around press time.
