BETHESDA, Md. -- Nine credit unions headquartered in Arizona have signed up with Allpoint Network, the nationwide ATM network that provides fee-free ATM services to cardholders, but charges a fee to financial institution participants.

The nine are the $1.4 billion Arizona FCU, the $861 million Vantage West FCU, the $255 million Sun West FCU, the $243 million Deer Valley CU, the $189 million Altier CU, the $148 million Canyon State CU, the $148 million Tucson Old Pueblo CU, the $65 million Pinal County FCU and the $29 million Tucson Telco FCU.

Unlike previous instances where a number of CUs have signed up at once with the network through a connection made with a league, Allpoint President Ben Psillas said that in Arizona, credit union CEOs talking to other CEOs played a key role.

"They have something called the CEO Roundtable in Arizona and that really helped in our networking and our ability to tell credit unions about Allpoint," Psillas said.

Allpoint anticipates other Arizona credit unions will sign up before the end of the year, Psillas said.
