MADISON, Wis. — During the annual CEO Network, CUES named Travis Credit Union President/CEO Patsy Van Ouwerkerk the 2006 CUES Executive of the Year and Langley Federal Credit Union Senior Vice President/Chief Marketing Officer Brett Noll the CUES Future Leader.

A CUES member since 1984, Van Ouwerkerk has served Travis Credit Union since 2002. Under her guidance, the credit union has expanded into five new communities and opened five new branches. She is one of only ten women in the United States who is the CEO of a credit union with more than $1 billion in assets.

"I'm so pleased that Travis Credit Union's board nominated me for this award. That was a great honor itself," said Van Ouwerkerk. "I appreciate that the board sees the benefit of my work in the community and within the credit union industry. And, of course we couldn't do it without our staff."

Upon being hired at Langley FCU in 2001, Noll took on the task of re-branding his credit union by redesigning the LFCU logo, creating a graphic standards manual, and bringing a consistent look, style and message to all communications. He has been named Marketing Professional of the Year by CUNA, Marketer of the Year by CUES and is the only marketer at his credit union to rise to the level of senior vice president.

"This award is a tremendous honor and very meaningful to me," said Noll. "I wouldn't be standing up here if it wasn't for my current CEO Jean Yokum, who taught me many things, including, 'If you're going to do something, do it right' and 'Don't go over budget.'"
