CARLSBAD, Calif. — CUES honored the following councils during CUES' members-only conference, CEO Network 2006, at the Four Seasons Resort Aviara.

The CUES Nevada Council was honored with the Glenn Johnson Outstanding Council award for councils with less than 74 members. CUES Alabama and North Carolina Councils also received Awards of Excellence in this category.

The CUES Rocky Mountain Council received the Elmer Cinnater Outstanding Council award for councils with 75 to 150 members. Awards of Excellence in this category were given to the CUES Delaware Valley and Wisconsin Councils.

The CUES Michigan Council was presented with the Bob Garrard Outstanding Council Award for councils with more than 150 members. In addition, the CUES Florida and Greater Southern Councils were honored with Awards of Excellence.

The CUES Northern California Council was named as the Everett Wood Most Improved Council.

CUES also inducted its top new-member recruiters from the past year into the CUES Chairman's Club. Twenty-three CUES members were honored for recruiting three or four new members, and two CUES members were honored for recruiting five to seven new members.

Councils serve CUES members on a regional basis, offering networking and career-enhancing resources to credit union leaders. Run by members on a volunteer basis, the 25 Councils are judged annually on professional development, membership growth, special events, format delivery and promotional materials.

Each winning Council receives a monetary award for future meetings; the three Outstanding Councils each receive $1,000; the Award of Excellence winners each receive $500; and the Most Improved Council receives $750.
