MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — For Clearview Federal Credit Union knowledge is the key to helping its members fight back against identity theft. The credit union has recently held two free informational seminars for local residents.

The first seminar, held at Clearview’s Ohio Valley General Hospital branch location, boasted some 85 members of Seniority, a group of active senior citizens, in attendance. Clearview was asked to present the topic to this specific age group since not only does OVGH strive to present programs to sustain good mental and physical health, but it remains aware of how important it is for seniors to be conscious of their financial health. The presentation by Cindy Franzi, director of lending development and quality assurance at Clearview, covered such topics as how identity theft happens, obtaining free copies of credit reports and how to report the crime. A paper shredder was also given away to one of the attendees.
