LANSING, Mich. -- With Michigan manufacturing workers facing achanging job market, NuUnion Credit Union is giving its members ahelping hand.

The credit union will provide up to $1 million in low interestloans to support educational assistance for members who need new oradvanced training as part of the Michigan Credit Union League'sCareer Transition Program.

NuUnion will offer eligible members a fixed-rate loan with amaximum payback period of 10 years, which begins after a 24-monthdeferment period, during which the interest on the loan will beforgiven. The interest rate will be set at .50% below the Staffordloan and the maximum assistance per member is $10,000.
