SAN DIEGO — The 2006 Mission Federal Credit Union Memory Walk, held in San Diego’s Balboa Park, helped raise $360,000 for the San Diego chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association–surpassing last year’s event by more than $100,000.

More than 2,000 people came out for the early morning 5K, which was emceed by local television news anchor Bill Menish. The chair of the event was former San Diego Padres manager and new San Francisco Giants skipper Bruce Bochy. Both Menish and Bochy have personal family ties to Alzheimer’s.
