The award recognizes AFCU Business Development EducationCoordinator Michelle Lawrence's efforts to bring financialeducation to Orange County schools.

American First Credit Union's financial education programteaches students the importance of saving and managing their money.Each week Lawrence makes classroom presentations on financialliteracy and teaches students how to write checks and manage abudget, apply for credit and save money for their futures.

"I'm so thankful to receive this award," said Lawrence. "But,the important thing is that I'm able to help these students bygiving them the valuable financial tools they will need to becomesuccessful adults."
