ARVADA, Colo. — Credit unions in Colorado and worldwide, celebrated International Credit Union Day on October 19 with festivities for members.

For 58 years, credit unions have set aside the third Thursday in October to celebrate ICU Day as a way to promote understanding and support for the credit union difference and reflect on the history of credit unions.

Credit unions all around Colorado celebrated ICU Day with festivities such as: serving complimentary refreshments in their lobby; free hotdog lunches; giveaways; essay writing contests for youth; special one-week promotional offerings; and hosting special events.
