"The initial impetus for [NCUA's low-income data collection] initiative were questions raised by Chairman Bill Thomas of the House Ways & Means Committee. I think that as the political landscape is changing, and changing quite dramatically, the desire of Congress to look at that type of information may also be diminished…The overwhelming preponderance and sentiment among the Ways & Means Committee Members who spoke on the issue was that they had little if any appetite for really re-examining the tax status of credit unions."

–Venable, LLP Partner Bill Donovan on the future of NCUA's data collection initiative.
