CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Art lovers can skip the museum and head over to Veridian Credit Union where they can peruse over 20 pieces of original artwork created by Marion High School students on display at the credit union's Blairs Ferry branch. The display is part of Veridian's award-winning ArtShare program, which was developed to increase the awareness of young artists in the community. Artwork currently on display range from paintings and drawings, to photography and pottery. All artwork will continue to be displayed until January 2007 when a new series of student works arrive. The credit union also hosted an ArtShare Premier on Monday, October 2, which was open to the public. "This is a very talented group of young adults," said Mark Koppedryer, Veridian's regional manager. "By offering this program, we hope to bring recognition to these great young artists and celebrate their art with the community."
