IRVINE, Calif. — Have consumers gotten used to manufacturers' zero percent financing incentive offers?
Nearly 50% of participants in a survey conducted by Autobytel.com said it would take an "incredible deal" to get them to purchase the "gas-guzzling" sport-utility vehicles or trucks. Respondents also indicated the most likely deal that would push them toward buying a truck or SUV would be 0% financing.
Conversely, half of the survey respondents said they wouldn't buy a SUV or truck, even with a steep discount because of the price of gas and the vehicles' low gas mileage.
