ORLANDO — Ten Orange County schools recently received another $100,000 from Central Florida Educators' Federal Credit Union to replenish their book supplies.

The donation is the fourth installment of the CU's $500,000 "Dollars for Books" pledge. Checks for $100,000 were given to principals at 10 Orange County elementary, middle and high schools.

Central Florida Educators' FCU President/CEO Joseph Melbourne said providing the books brings wealth to students and likens reading to compounded interest. "A little each day adds up," Melbourne said. Kaley Elementary Principal Sandra Daves said the CU's donation makes it possible for schools to obtain additional books that they don't have the money to buy.
