MEDFORD, Ore. — After 50 years, Rogue Federal Credit Union is revving up its image with a new awareness campaign to build its brand image as a community partner.
A new 2006 burgundy-colored Ford Mustang convertible sporting the credit union's 50th anniversary logo and "Win Me" graphics on the front and doors can be spotted in parades and other community events around town.
The moving awareness "ad" is the talk of the town and members are lining up for a chance to slide behind the wheel and drive the Mustang home.

"The response has been overwhelming," said Tim Alford, president/CEO, "We had no idea this would be so well received. We have had so many entries that we have to store them in large bags in a secure storage facility."
With red 15-gallon gas cans as entry boxes and staffers wearing "Enter to Win" badges, the campaign is shifting into high gear as members can enter the contest once a day at each of the credit union's six branch locations. The only stipulation for entering is participants must be members in good standing when the drawing takes place. The randomly drawn winner will be announced during the Rogue FCU annual meeting in May 2007.
"The Mustang was the obvious vehicle of choice because of its high level of desirability," said Rogue FCU Chief Business Development Officer Michael Moore. "On the drive back from one community event, a gentleman in a high lift pickup pulled up to the Mustang at a stop light. After reading the graphics on the side of the car he leaned out the window, looked down at me and asked how he could win the auto. After discussing the benefits of membership, which included the fact that only members could enter the drawing he smiled and said he would come to the branch the next day to join."
