PASADENA, Calif. — Wescom Credit Union recently celebrated a member appreciation day at its La Habra Branch with Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim player Chone Figgins.
The purpose of the event is twofold, Wescom Credit Union Public Relations Manager John Kearns said. "One is to appreciate the members we have and secondly, to raise awareness in the La Habra community of Wescom."
Attendees of the big event were treated to popcorn and goodies as well as an autographed souvenir baseball.

Wescom promoted the event with postcards to existing members and the local community within a three-mile radius of the branch. The $3.5 billion credit union also ran special promotions that day, which resulted in the branch opening 18 new Kids Club Accounts, 30 Perfect 10 Certificates, and three new checking accounts.
"Chone was exceptionally gracious and stayed well past his scheduled time to ensure every person in line met with him and had the chance to chat and take pictures," Kathie Chism, vice president of branch operations for Wescom's Region 2, said. "The event was a great success as the La Habra branch staff did a tremendous job servicing our members." –[email protected]
