FORT WORTH, Texas — Unity One Federal Credit Union is takingconsumers back to “school” this fall by offering free financialeducation classes.
|The classes, which will begin on September 11 and continuethrough December, and will cover six topics with a meeting everyother Monday. Classes will be taught in Spanish and limited to 20students. Free childcare for students attending the classes will beavailable.
|Topics covered include: How to Use a Financial Institution, Howto Increase my Savings and Write a Budget, How to Use Credit, Howto Buy a Car, How to Buy a Home and Introduction to Taxes.
|Students completing all six hour-long sessions of the programwill receive a special certification of completion for theiraccomplishments, followed by a reception for students and theirfamilies.
|“We hope to reach as many people as possible to help them learnhow to reach their personal financial goals,” said Northside BranchManager Joe Martinez.
|Unity One's Northside Branch is located in Fort Worth'spredominately low-income and underbanked Northside.
