SEATTLE — Architectural and design firm EHS Design, formerly Emick Howard & Seibert, Inc., has gained recognition for its retail branch environments.

Retail branches designed in collaboration with strategic partner Weber Marketing Group for Greater Nevada Credit Union, Honolulu City & County Employees Federal Credit Union, Mission Federal Credit Union, and North Shore Credit Union have won three top honors and a total of seven industry awards from CUES and CUNA.

In the 2006 CUES Golden Mirror Awards Point-of-Sale Category, Greater Nevada CU's new Carson City, Nevada retail branch environment took first place; Honolulu City & County Employees FCU took second place; and North Shore CU received an Award of Merit. In its 32nd year, The Golden Mirror Awards are largely based on marketing criteria set against the design's results, creativity, planning, and production quality.

The firms walked away award winners in the 2006 CUNA Diamond Awards as well. For retail merchandising, Honolulu City & County Employees FCU and Mission FCU both took first place; and North Shore CU and Greater Nevada CU received Awards of Merit. The awards were based on the overall branching strategy designed to enhance member awareness of credit union services. It encompassed the totality of the branch sales environment, including kiosks, ATMs, and self-service displays. Mission Federal Credit Union's top honors largely reflect Weber Marketing Group's most recent retail work.

"Winning awards is gratifying and a testimonial to our client's willingness to engage transformational change," says Paul Seibert, CMC, vice president of financial services at EHS Design. "It also speaks to our teams' and partners' ability to convert complex branding, image, staff performance, member development, product and service, cultural, operations, technology, marketing, and facilities issues into simple, eloquent, and powerful new branch business models–that drive high branch performance, staff success, and member satisfaction."

The accolades are not new for the firms as both EHS Design and Weber Marketing Group have won numerous awards over the years for their work together developing branch business models, prototypes, and merchandising programs for credit unions across the country.
